Einstein Cracked The Code To Career Success

In physics, the law of conservation of energy states that the total energy of an isolated system remains constant—it is said to be conserved over time. Energy can neither be created nor destroyed; rather, it transforms from one form to another.
Are you conserving your energy and yet to transform it into opportunity?
It is always intriguing when professionals about lofty goals and all of the things that “could” be done, only to see that they are actually not doing much about it outside of the “static system” approach. While waiting for things to happen, these professionals are behaving as Einstein’s isolated system.
From a career sense, it is no different to any other part of life – If you don’t do anything, nothing will happen. By this, this doesn’t mean simply turning up to the office and delivering only what is expected. That would sit in the “Conservation of Energy” category. If achievement is the goal, you have to do one of two to create movement – Execute or Influence.
Execute – To put a plan or course of action into effect. (Getting things done)
Influence - The action or process of producing effects on the actions, behavior, opinions on others. (Getting others to get things done)
When looking at getting things done, we are talking about additional or new tasks, projects or initiatives that add value to achieving results. Again, not regular tasks that sit in the Conservation of Energy category.
**Notice how both have nothing to do with thinking or coming up with ideas?
If you feel stuck, or that you are standing still in your career, consider what you are doing to move beyond your static state. What are you executing that is beyond your normal role? What initiatives are you influencing that drives results for you and those around you?
Create your own luck. What is the opportunity cost of not acting?
