AUSTRALIAN REGULATOR

TThis high-profile Australian Regulator was navigating the need to develop a better way of forecasting capacity planning, and had an old, out-dated and cumbersome approach to modelling this and there was a burning platform for change that required rapid improvement.

SOLUTION DESIGN AND DELIVERY

TThe operational model was scoped by understanding the workflows and activities that impact the number of staff involved in resolving cases. This included;


Understanding the drivers and relationships in capacity planning

 

Mapping and designing a robust, flexible and best practice model, in partnership with project leads


Testing a prototype before building a foundational model for client decision making requirements.

A) This model could not be developed in isolation and at the pace required with existing internal resources, and is now sustainably used for capacity planner.

B) Users and managers of this model have the capacity to adjust, adapt and manage with the add-ins prescribed in this solution.

CASE STUDY 2

TELCO BUSINESS

A telecommunications business did not have a reporting system that was able to deliver operational data reconciliation and dashboards, and as such, operational management were unable to make informed decisions supported by reliable and easy-to-digest data.

SOLUTION DESIGN AND DELIVERY

Starting with the end in mind, a strong understanding of the senior management decision making about matters related to recovery of unbilled and refunding of overbilled customers could be managed earlier or prevents. This included: 

Co-designing the metrics and tools related to billing and service provisioning across their largest 5 corporate customers

 

Build and roll out an operational data reconciliation and reporting dashboards, starting with no reporting system, only data dumps.


Test the new dashboards with operational management

A new and reliable reporting and reconciliation process was installed.

MAJOR RETAIL CHAIN

A major retailer had used a complex web of Excel spreadsheets to manage HR analytics, which underpinned a range of decisions and insights shared with management. Due to its complexity, this environment was prone to error, highly inefficient and key person dependent.

SOLUTION DESIGN AND DELIVERY

After a deep review of the existing environment, tracking of regular operational needs and desired outputs, a highly automated and connected reporting capability was scoped and implemented. This included:

Visualisation of data in PowerBI for the purpose of interactive stakeholder experience and digestion of insights.

 

Flexible and rapid management of data and ‘slicing & dicing’ for decision making


Capacity to continue delivering operational needs while the upgrade project was rolled out.

CASE STUDY 4

FINTECH FINANCE LENDER

A rapidly growing ‘fintech’ lending business required financial management for standard governance, management insights and business hygeine, as well as the capacity to work in shareholders and future investors on the use and access of capital and better overall decision making. Before this, they had no robust foundations to rely on.

SOLUTION DESIGN AND DELIVERY

On reviewing and understanding the CFO function, including operationally managing this role for a period of time, a fully integrated financial model, built on best practice modelling standards was scoped and installed. This included:

Leveraging the core lending system and their cloud-based accounting package, with automated loading into the model.

 

An additional capital raising model for series B rounds and beyond.


Development and installation of an automation tool within the finance processes to avoid having to hire additional team members, ensuring the CFO role was truly ‘digitally enabled’.
