SMART DECISION MAKING TO ACHIEVE FLEXIBILITY

Is it possible to work flexible hours and still achieve your career goals? 

Emma Beard has had an extraordinary career with Lion, a $5.6 billion food and beverages company, known for beer brands including Thooeys, Hahn and James Boags (to name only a few).

Since 2009, Emma has been Finance Director of Heineken Lion and later Fine Wine Partners, Risk Assurance Director, Commercial Manager for National Sales and currently the Finance Strategy and Insights Director. For most of this time, Emma has spent working in a part time or “flexible” arrangement.

We explore how Emma has been able to build a highly successful career with a leading employer, while raising a family and achieving flexibility. This will include:

• What “flexibility” really means and being clear about what you and other require, 
• Communication and expectation management with management/ leaders and business stakeholders,
• Encouraging a culture of flexibility, 
• Addressing the real reasons why flexibility may not encouraged/ supported, 
• Effectively using the valuable resource of time
